The Chile de Arbol is a variety of chili (Capsicum annuum) native to Mexico and Central America. This is one of the most used dried chiles in Mexican cuisine, especially in sauces. Although it is less common, chili can also be used in its fresh version. It is characterized by a spicy flavor and good aroma. While growing they are green and mature to bright red at which point they are harvested. The dried De Arbol has a more distinctive taste than the fresh pepper since the drying process enhances their flavor. De Arbol is perfect in any dish where you want to increase its heat level.
